About Me

Stephanie Dashiell is an English professor and Academic Coordinator of Developmental English at Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) in Largo, Maryland. A proud alumna of Howard University, she holds a B.A. in English, an M.A. in Teaching from UMGC, and a graduate certificate from George Washington University. She is currently completing her doctoral studies at Sam Houston State University.

Since joining PGCC in 2013, Professor Dashiell has been passionate about supporting underprivileged and international students through engaging, innovative teaching methods. She integrates technology, creative projects, and real-world connections into her curriculum to help students succeed both in and beyond the classroom. Her work has earned her several awards, including recognition for creativity and innovation in teaching.

In her role as Academic Coordinator, she collaborates with faculty and community organizations to enhance student learning and success. She also conducts national and international workshops for educators on topics like educational technology and course design.

 

Outside the classroom, she’s a musician and vocalist—playing piano, flute, bassoon, and singing soprano with Grammy-nominated gospel artist Ricky Dillard & New G. Follow her journey and teaching insights on Instagram: @professordashiell.
