About Me

Stephanie Dashiell is an English professor, academic coordinator, and global education advocate dedicated to empowering underrepresented and international students. A proud alumna of Howard University, she holds a B.A. in English, an M.A. in Teaching from UMGC, and a graduate certificate from George Washington University. She is currently completing her doctoral studies at Sam Houston State University.

With a passion for creativity in the classroom, Professor Dashiell integrates technology, real-world projects, and culturally relevant pedagogy to help students thrive. Her innovative approach has earned her awards and recognition for excellence in teaching.

She is especially committed to expanding access to global education opportunities. Through short-term study abroad programs, she helps students of color gain international experience, develop intercultural competence, and build confidence as global citizens. She also leads workshops for educators on course design and educational technology at both national and international levels.

Outside the classroom, she is a classically trained musician and vocalist—playing piano, flute, and bassoon, and singing soprano with Grammy-nominated gospel artist Ricky Dillard & New G. Follow her journey on Instagram: @professordashiell.
